"Nectar by Blue Fern Beauty" is a promotional motion graphics piece for a fictitious product and brand. Nectar and the brand Blue Fern were inspired by the marketing trend of plant-based and clean beauty. I looked at products like the Glow Recipe Dew Drops, brands like Ilia and Honest, and the overall style of luxury brand print advertising. 

 

Before starting the design boards, I created a set of style guidelines for colors, fonts, line weights, and the general principles of how I wanted to approach the overall visual style.

• Stylized fonts

• No very dark or saturated colors

• Focus on botanical elements with some decorative text

 

I created this piece through photo manipulation and a few hand-drawn elements animated in After Effects. I used a lot of expressions to create automated repetition and arrangement of each part of the kaleidoscope effect. 

 

The actual “product” was modeled and rendered using Cinema 4D and Redshift.
